About the project:Our customer is the European online car market with over 30 million monthly users, with a market presence in 18 countries.
The Role: Become part of our Platform Engineering team and enable engineering teams to deliver software quickly and reliably, living our “you build it, you run it” approach.
We are responsible for internal core infrastructure products, like our centralized Kubernetes cluster and managed CI/CD solutions, used across 30+ teams.
Topics like scalability, resilience, observability, and resource optimization are part of our daily conversations.
We invest in self-service and a product mindset with an emphasis on developer experience to increase our impact.
We also contribute to the improvement of the architecture, engineering practices, and processes across the company.
The ideal candidate for this role is for someone who has a background in Software Engineering (Java) and Platform Engineering, who’s able to work with different teams on establishing and promoting engineering best practices.Main Responsibilities: Collaborate with an engineering manager and different tech teams to identify the right problem to solve in an architectural/consultant capacity.Together with your team and internal stakeholders, you will co-create best practices and engineering standards, while shaping the architecture, technology choices and developing infrastructure products.Support other engineers that use your team’s products, participate in on-call and troubleshoot production incidents.
Take a leading role in projects and initiatives.
Requirements: Experience with IaaS cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, etc. (Ideally with AWS) Familiarity with core IaaS concepts such as compute, storage, networking, identity management, etc.
Problem solving and collaboration skills.Background in Software Engineering (specifically with Java) would be a big plus.
Ability to code in at least one programming language, ideally Java or Typescript.
Experience with SRE and/or DevOps principles.
Appreciation for Infrastructure as Code and Pipeline as Code.
Knowledge of observability concepts and monitoring technologies such as AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, OpsGenie.
