You will have a keen eye for detail, deep knowledge of payroll compliance, and the ability to establish and maintain best practices that ensure accuracy, compliance, and minimal risk.
You will work closely with other members of the finance and HR teams to provide an excellent payroll experience.
The Payroll Supervisor will be instrumental in ensuring that ALC’s payroll processes not only meet regulatory requirements but also align with our commitment to delivering high-quality, client-focused services that Wow professionally and CARE personally.Key Responsibilities: Manage Payroll Operations: Oversee the full payroll cycle for multiple clients and internally, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Handle complex payroll issues, ensuring flawless execution.
Full cycle payroll responsibilities include (not an exhaustive list): State registrations & maintaining proper tax rates Entering payroll data Calculating wages, benefits, tax deductions, commissions, etc. and collecting proper withholding or garnishments Preparing and processing paychecks Responding to payroll-related inquiries Filing all federal and state payroll tax returns Establish Best Practices: Develop, implement, and continuously improve payroll processes and policies to minimize errors, reduce risk, and enhance client satisfaction.
Ensure that payroll procedures are streamlined, efficient, and compliant.
Compliance & Risk Management: Stay current on payroll-related laws and regulations (e.g., federal, state, local, FLSA, FMLA) and ensure full compliance.
Mitigate liability and risk by ensuring all payroll activities are in line with ALC's high standards and best practices.
Client Communication & Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding payroll questions, concerns, and escalations.
Build and maintain strong, positive relationships by delivering excellent service with professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail.
Payroll Reporting & Analytics: Prepare and review client payroll reports, ensuring all information is accurate, clear, and actionable.
Work with clients to interpret reports and provide insights into payroll trends and strategic decisions.
Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with the HR and accounting teams to ensure seamless integration between payroll, HRIS systems, and accounting functions.
Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving: Continuously evaluate and refine payroll processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Take a proactive approach in solving challenges, driving efficiency, and reducing operational risks.
Audit & Reconciliation: Conduct regular payroll audits, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and internal controls.
Lead the payroll reconciliation process for year-end reports, tax filings, and other necessary audits.
The Successful Candidate will demonstrate: Technical Payroll Skills: Mastery and ability to train others on payroll best practice.
Payroll Software Proficiency: Quick ability to learn and train others on payroll/HRIS softwares.
