Job Title: VP / Head of Sales Location: USA (Remote or Hybrid), preference for East or Central Time Zone, Travel: 50%, including overnight stays Type: Full-time Valsoft is looking for an energetic, results-driven, and hands-on VP / Head of Sales.About Valsoft:  Valsoft specialises in acquiring and growing vertical market software companies.

By implementing industry best practices, Valsoft ensures a time-sensitive integration process and operates a decentralised model, fostering rapid growth through reinvestment in its portfolio.The Role:This role will continue to raise expectations and the strategic vision to drive our growth in the local government sector.

As both a strategic leader and a hands-on contributor, this individual will lead a high-performing team of account executives, directly engage with clients, and personally drive key initiatives to expand our footprint and deepen client relationships.It requires a tenacious and scrappy approach to achieving revenue targets and market expansion goals.

The ideal candidate is both a big-picture thinker and someone willing to roll up their sleeves, demonstrating a commitment to building a high-performing team and personally closing deals.

We need a leader who is agile, thrives in ambiguity, and holds themselves accountable to the highest standards.

Lastly, we seek a leader who embodies our motto Be Humble, Stay Hungry: Have enough humility to know that you are not the best at everything but be hungry for more – more success, more knowledge, and more personal growth.Key Responsibilities: Sales Leadership & Strategy: Craft and execute a sales strategy to drive revenue growth, with a particular focus on expanding our local government portfolio.

Set ambitious targets and develop clear roadmaps to grow a robust pipeline and exceed revenue results.

Hands-On Team Development: Recruit, coach, and develop a scrappy, results-oriented team of account executives and account managers, cultivating a culture of accountability and success.

As a “player-coach,” you’ll lead by example, actively participating in the sales and account management processes while continually setting a bar high for yourself and the team.

Revenue Growth: Take a proactive approach to business development, pursuing high-value partnerships and strategic accounts.

Identify and capitalize on opportunities to drive sales growth and outperform revenue targets.

Account Management & Profitability: Enhance profitability and share of wallet by nurturing existing client relationships and applying targeted account management strategies that maximize customer investment and loyalty.

Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with product, finance, and IT to ensure sales initiatives are aligned with broader company objectives, optimizing resources and feedback to drive success.

Market Expansion: Aggressively pursue new business opportunities and partnerships to fuel growth beyond the current client base, establishing our brand as a trusted partner within the public sector.

About You: 10+ years of experience in sales leadership, with a proven track record of exceeding revenue targets, ideally within the enterprise software or public sector markets.

High accountability and commitment to success: You have a track record of consistently meeting and exceeding revenue goals, are relentless in pursuing sales targets, and can make impactful decisions.

Hands-On Sales Approach: Experience as a “player-coach” with a willingness to roll up your sleeves to engage directly in the sales process.

You don’t just manage; you actively contribute to hitting targets.

Team-Building & Leadership: Proven success in building and leading high-performing sales teams.

You know how to develop a culture of excellence and motivate a team to deliver beyond expectations.

Strategic & Tactical Experience: Demonstrated ability to create go-to-market strategies, forecast revenue with accuracy, and convert a robust sales pipeline.

Familiarity with various enterprise sales methodologies and sales tools (Salesforce, MS Excel, etc.).

Exceptional Relationship-Building Skills: Strong relationship-building acumen with a focus on meaningful, revenue-generating partnerships within a software and services ecosystem.

Resilient & Adaptable: Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments to realize new opportunities and solve challenges creatively.

Must be willing to travel approximately 50%, including overnight stays.

Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
