Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.The Cloud Compute team owns the foundational capabilities which power Affirms Kubernetes-based online infrastructure.

The team delivers engineering expertise to enable the management, configuration, provisioning, and operation of our computing platform.

We deliver the resources for infrastructure and product engineering teams to run their workloads at scale.

We aspire to provide simple and self-serve interfaces that are used daily by every engineer at Affirm.What you’ll doLead a European-based team of infrastructure engineers - guiding their technical decisions, projects, and roadmaps within the Online Infrastructure team.

You will shape and own Affirm’s strategy for delivering and managing our foundational computing infrastructure.Collaborate with peers, leadership, and stakeholders across the platform engineering and product engineering organizations.Design and implement frameworks, services, and tools to handle new Affirm products and business needs that can securely scale across millions of users and their transactions.Guide, tutor, and aid in the professional growth of junior and senior engineers within the team, promoting best practices in design, coding, and testing.What we look for7+ years of software development experience.3+ years of technical and organizational leadership, preferably in the infrastructure or SRE domain.Experience in a SaaS company delivery services 24/7A deep knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift, or other container orchestration technologies.Experience with cloud-native traffic management, networking, and security concepts at scale (Istio, Cilium, eBPF)Experience in designing and creating cloud-native CD systems with ArgoCD, Flux, or similar technologies.Solid CS fundamentals and practical coding and debugging experience using modern software delivery methods to develop services with Python, Go, C++, or JVM-based languages (Java, Kotlin, Scala).Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud providers.Familiarity with Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA) is a plus.

Our stack includes Kubernetes, Docker, Envoy, Istio, and Nginx, but we are open to exploring new technologies.Have an enthusiastic vision for leading technical teams and building their careers.You prefer leveraging, enhancing, and contributing to Open Source solutions rather than starting from scratch.Experience in cross-time-zone collaboration, ensuring alignment and effective communication with global teams.Compensation & BenefitsBase Pay Grade - PEquity Grade - 5Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range.

Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents).

In addition, the employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by Affirm Holdings, Inc.
